Conscious Choice magazine call’s Mr. Kipnis “one of the Midwest’s leading green designers”, and Archeworks co-founder Stanley Tigerman, FAIA, said that “he is one of Chicago’s new breed of up and coming architect’s who blends excellence in architecture with a social conscience”. Mr. Kipnis is the principal of Nathan Kipnis Architects, Inc., which is recognized as one of Chicago’s premier green and sustainable architectural practices. Most recently, Nathan Kipnis is a current recipient of the 2007 Environmental Stewardship Award from the City of Evanston.
Mr. Kipnis received his Master of Architecture with an emphasis in Energy Conscious Design from Arizona State University in 1985. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
His work has been widely published and has spoken at numerous architectural conferences and events, including the National AIA Convention, Chicago AIA, Archeworks, The Midwest Renewable Energy Association, Northwestern University and the Center for Green Technology in Chicago.
