For Those About to Rock, We Salute You! Arizona Proposed as Home of Decades Music Theme Park, a Living Monument to Music with State of the Art Thrills

ELOY, AZ. November 7, 2007 - Rock music is a vital force in the lives of billions of people, bridging cultural, racial and generational divides in ways that have changed and shaped our world.

Now, with one small step to be taken at the Arizona Legislature, Arizona is poised to make a giant leap into Rock and Roll history with the proposed DECADES Music Theme Park.

DECADES - planned to open directly between the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas - will be a living monument to rock music and its artists, as well as a dream come true for thrill seekers of all ages. The DECADES team is seeking a change to existing Arizona theme park legislation to allow for a project to be built in Pinal County. This effort will begin in earnest in January.

DECADES is led by a blue-ribbon team of theme-park imagineers and experts in finance, land use law and public policy that includes:

Peter Alexander, one of the creative minds behind Disney's Epcot Center, Disney Tokyo and some of the most breathtaking attractions at Universal Studios Florida.
DeMenna & Associates, one of Arizona's premiere public policy firms.
Rose Law Group, the largest female- owned law firm in the state and experts in Pinal County.
Rose & Allyn, Arizona's public relations heavyweight.
Martin West, the visionary artist whose designs for DECADES' attractions have been 20 years in the making.

"I have been privileged to help create some of the world's most amazing theme park attractions, and I can tell you that DECADES is one of the finest concepts and designs that I have ever seen," Alexander said. "If Arizona can rally around this vision, there is a chance to build something truly unique and phenomenal for the state and for millions of visitors from around the world."

At this moment, there is already a similar Rock and Roll-themed park under construction in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and it is set to open in May 2008. Just as Disney has an East Coast and West Coast presence, Arizona has a chance to be not only the western home for a rock music theme park, but the biggest and best in the nation, Alexander added.

Unlike other large-scale plans that have been proposed, the DECADES team already owns and controls land near the town of Eloy, Arizona, located near Interstate 10 and within an easy drive from both the fast-growing Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas. The park itself will feature interconnected Lands and Districts that represent each decade of rock music - the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s in its first phase - with interactive thrill rides, live music and other attractions where audience members can step back in time to the sights and sounds of each era. Proposed attractions include roller coasters and thrill rides inspired by classic rock album covers and music like Kansas' Point of No Return, the Eagles Hotel California and the Doors' Riders on the Storm. The park will be surrounded by a passenger train called The Grand Funk Railroad.

Additional districts will be added in future years. Hotels and a major retail district are also planned for the site.
