"Morning Mayor" Wants Constituents to Support Decades Music Theme Park:  AZ Radio Legend Dave Pratt says Decades Is Right for Arizona

ELOY, ARIZONA. MARCH 10, 2008-For a man who's listened to as much music as Dave Pratt, you'd think he'd have heard it all. But the sound of tourism dollars ringing cash registers has Pratt thinking that the proposed Decades Music Theme Park isn't just whistlin' Dixie.

Pratt, the highly-rated morning show host at KMLE Radio - Camel Country 108 - has been behind the microphone in Arizona for 30 years. He's seen just about everything that's come and gone in the Grand Canyon State and he thinks Decades can be a boon for Arizona.

Pratt rose to fame as the long-time morning host of KUPD where his top ratings earned him the nickname "The Morning Mayor."

In a letter addressed to state legislators, Pratt writes, "..Decades would not only reflect Arizona's pride in our music, it would help grow our music scene and bring new jobs, tourism and tax dollars to our state."

While Pratt has long been associated with music in Arizona through his profession, he also emphasizes what Decades would mean to his family: "..I am a father of four young children. My family and many other families could enjoy a first class family theme park for generations to come."

Pratt wraps up his letter by asking legislators to pass the bill that will help make Decades a reality. "..I encourage you to pass Senate Bill 1450 - so we don't have to wait decades for another opportunity like Decades."

SB1450 has already been given a do-pass recommendation by the Senate Commerce and Economic Development Committee. It is currently in front of the State Senate.

Decades will feature districts representing each decade of rock music - the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s to start with - with interactive thrill rides, live music and other attractions where park goers can step back in time to the sights and sounds of each era.

A recent study by Elliot D. Pollack & Associates pegs Decades' ten-year economic impact at approximately $270 million for the state of Arizona.
