ELOY, ARIZONA. FEBRUARY 6, 2008-As the state legislature debates ways to address budget deficits, an analysis by top Arizona economic consulting firm Elliott D. Pollack & Company suggests the proposed Decades Music Theme Park could be a real shot in the arm for the state economy.
According to the Pollack study, if the Theme Park performs as the promoters forecast, the State of Arizona will realize some $270 million in gross tax revenue over ten years from construction and operations at Decades.
The City of Eloy would also be a big winner with gross tax proceeds approximating $180 million over the same period.
The project will also be music to the ears of the construction industry. Pollack forecasts 2,400 construction jobs will be created each year for the estimated two-year build-out of the Theme Park.
The study projects 6,400 permanent jobs will be created, a real boost for Pinal County, which has struggled to provide enough jobs to match the population explosion between Tucson and Phoenix.
"People have been asking just what kind of economic impact Decades could have at the local and state level. This analysis answers those questions in a way, to quote Madonna, that ensures Decades would be a real "Ray of Light" in an otherwise difficult state legislation," theme park expert and future Decades CEO Peter Alexander said.
